![]() So I've just opened my first Elos Ca test kit, and reading the instructions, the math goes like this
50 x number of drops C + 10 x number of drops D eg - 8 drops of C = 450mg/l + 5 drops of D + 50mg/l =total Ca of 425mg/l not when I was in school it weren't....

![]() 1 drop of c = 50. so when you get to say 400 and the colour has not changed switch to D. +10
so 8 drops of c = 400 then add on drop of d and if it changes then your ca is 410. if it takes 2 drops of d to change colour then its 420, and so on. |

I usually add 7 drops of C (350) and then switch to D so as to not over-shoot the mark. If all goes well I add 7 drops C (350) + 7 drops D (70) = 420 |

![]() Well ya, I got that figured out in all of about a second, but should I be using a test kit where they can't even get the directions right? This isn't a translation problem, pretty sure math is math, even in German. What other QC are they sloppy on?

![]() Jake's got enough lately
![]() The kit is easy enough to use, although my test showed Ca at 450, which is higher than I would have expected. Salifert generally gives me about 420.
