Default Can I just hack this guy off??

I have a HUGE Toadstool leather, Goten to big for the tank. Blocking the OM4 flow from 2 of the outlets. I've read that you can just cut a toadstool to frag them, but I don't want to frag him. I just want him smaller. Can I just cut the stem, say 6" up from bottom, and throw the rest away?

Here's a pic

Use scissors to cut the stem about 2-3" from the bottom and it will grow back, don't cut it in your tank unless there is no choice, they spew out bad toxins when fragged. Also if you have to cut it in your tank then do a small water change and run carbon. And don't throw your coral away take it into an lfs for abit of credit or sell it online for cheap or give it away for free. It is a perfectly healthy specimen and a life. I rarely throw corals away, would actually rescue corals if I can.

I would give the top away gladly, but my location, I am MIN 2hrs from a SW store, and atleast that or more form anyone who would want it. I can cut it out of tank, I'll do it in my SW makeup can, then discard the water in that.

If anyone want's it, let me know, we'll see what I can do to get it to you.

I'm in 100 Mile House BC Possibly could meet in Kamloops during week. My weekends are booked tho

Maybe you could put up a post in the Classifieds section stating you'd like to trade someone for their small one?
It'll ship just like anything else.
