Default Did i get a dud?

OK so I have had cleaner shrimp in the past and maybe because of my 5yr hiatus from reefing or maybe not but I have never seen this before that I can recall. My dwarf bi-color angel kept stuffing itself into the cleaner shrimp and the cleaner wanted nothing to do with the angel. This went on for about 15min before the angel finally gave up an swam off. Is this normal???
I have a 40sec video but have no idea how to upload it

I've had 4 cleaner fish in two different tanks, and over the course of a year I only ever saw one shrimp, clean one fish, one time. They did however steal every piece of food I'd feed to my lps. They're cool to look at, but I'm never going to get another one.

My cleaner wrasse was 9000 times more active in cleaning it's tank mates.

I find that they're way more willing to clean fish when they're small. When they get bigger they become lazy and go for the easier marks. I have 4 in my tank right now, a year ago they were setting up cleaning stations etc. but now it's just it's just like what asymlumdown says ... MMMMmmaybe once in a blue moon I see one cleaning a fish but it's a rare exception. However stealing food from LPS and anemones, they're ALL over that.

Mine does too as he's afraid of nothing and viciously attacked a 2nd cleaner wrasse I bought.

I'd go for a neon goby, IME they're more reliable.

I have a very large cleaner and a small cleaner and I've seen both of them working our fish over, especially the small one. So no problems here as mine seem to work pretty hard. Actually all my shrimps are fantastic. The peppermint shrimps eat my aptasia and cleaners clean everything. I only have the two species.

On another note most of them are pregnant right now. Kinda looking forward to the free fish food! lol

Yeah the cleaner shrimp i think is taking the easy meals now instead. It cleaned
the tang an angel for a few weeks, now as mentioned above it simply takes the easy
meals instead!

The novelty of my cleaner shrimp wore off really quick. Even though they were still cleaning fish their relentless pilfering of my LPS (even after target feeding the pigs) had them moving to new homes....
