![]() Hey everyone, I was just gonna build my new stand for my 110 gallon tank. I have a bunch of yellow cedar that is left from another project. Do you think there will be any issues with using yellow cedar for the stand?

![]() Burn yellow cedar? Bite your tongue, red yes! Kindling, but yellow IMO is very nice, only problem is you can only do a natural oil finish as the resins in yellow cedar prevent any film finish from bonding, also very aromatic, love the smell of the shop when milling yellow cedar.

![]() Ya, don't be burnin' any of that stuff. If you folks have too much cedar on your hands, throw some my way, red, yellow, purple, whatever. I've been itching to build another boat, a kayak this time... and cherry for the gunwales, thwarts, stems & seats, it's nicer than maple for that.
