Par38 r27 bulbs...for home pot lights...
Lotsa talk on canreef abot aquaria led lighting...but what about for hom lighting? I am Looking to replace my home incandescent. 75w bulbs potlight/floodlight type bulbs. Anyone know where i can get some led bulbs here in the gvrd? I was at walmart bellingham and they had some at $37 each but in canada, no one has them. The are around 4.81" for the glass floodlight. On alibaba, there's lots but are not ul nor csa of course...only the european or fcc certifications.
Any links, greatly appreciated. Msjboy

leds
the leds at rona and home depot are not worth the money.i have converted my whole house to led using e27,gu10,compact florescent,etc.stay away from the led that look like wheat bulbs as they burn out quickly-make sure they have a chip and lenses.i bought my leds on ebay from led world and have had no problems-unlike the rona and home depot types.i have 9watt,6 watt,5 watt,3 watt,and one watt leds.the more led bulbs you buy -the cheaper it is,and with a large order ,you usualy get free shipping.if you have time come over to my house and see the leds

Rona & Lowes, & Home depot does not have these larger bulbs.. at least not in Canada. In usa, yes. I was at a restaurant on Fraser st & 17th ( Fraser Court Restaurant) and they recently installed all the pot lights at a height of 12 feet ceilings.... the lighting is surprising good.. easily can read a menu. Have a look it anyone is interested; installed, a waitress said it was $50 each.. they must use 200 or so bulbs there.
That restaurant uses some 7 led bulb but on alibaba.com, some have 9 or 11 leds and are between 700 and 1000 lumens ( 12W, to 16W models respectively). Looks like I will have to bite the bullet and get some from China. Incidently, in Vancouver, someone said any new house with pot lights must use LED... no more halogen, CFL nor incandescent is allowed. It gets quite expensive! msjboy PS moncus, I recall you had the smaller diameter LED pot lights... not the 4.81" ones. I thought they looked kinda dim and only good for ambience

Home Depot in Vernon carries Par 38 LED floods in various sizes so surely any GVRD HD will have them as well. Nothing wrong with european & fcc certifications either, all pretty much the same. As far as potlights, a few links follow for HD offerings. Some in store, some online only, some both. Start at just under $50 up to $160+.

Sorry, what I meant was existing pot lights... .not new ones / assemblies. I am basically just wanting to by R27/26 ( the standard socket common bulbs use) that replaces an existing 75W 4.81" dia. flood light type bulb; my house is kinda old an this is what they used for large pot lights.. slightly newer homes use halogen pot lights which there are plenty of these LED sized lights:

leds
yes the leds are only 2" wide as i want a smaller light fixture.if you get the cool white,they are alot brighter than the warm white.i'm also installing 10 more lights in the basement on different switches-more than enough to light up the large room.the leds in the mudroom are warm white-which make them look dimmer
