![]() So my silly question my sunset monti is growing at a awsome speed but it is growing all around one of my clams. Has any had much experiance with encrusting montis, will it overgrow my clam.

![]() Most definitely. I would move the clam or the monti depends on which ever is easier.

![]() No, you don't need to move it. Crocea clams are able to dissolve coral/calcium carbonate substrates through their pedal and mantle tissues:
http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2007-10/jf/index.php Don't move it. The monti will grow around it and the clam will make sure it has the space it needs.

![]() cool I will give it a try my sunset allready overgrown my rainbow monti. But it is starting to be my center piece of my tank. Its tripled in size in 2 months!!! When I had halides I alway kept my clams in the sand but now that I have downsized so many times I only run t5s so my clam is at the top of my tank. Its happy and never moves.
