Default regulator reading on a newly filled co2 tank?

hey guys...
i just got my co2 tank refilled... and for some reason the numbers i'm getting just doesnt look right.... i worte down my reading on my last refill but i lost the paper
on the 1st guage i have 20psi and on the 2nd i get 650....
seems kinda low???? for a newly filled 5lb tank... or am i just mistaken??

i dont really care about payin a few extra bux, cuz i got it filled locally before work= very convenient for me, but the grumpy dude ripped me off too!! $20 for the fill... and i know it doesnt cost that much normally...

so if these number are good, then no problemo... but if they are low, then dude is gonna get an ear full!

so....anyone remember what readings i should have after a new fill?

TIA

Shao, can't recall the pressure, but the gauge should go up over a few days. At least mine does. I filled mine yesterday and it reported about 5oo psi. I think it went up to 800 this morning.

Temperature changes do cause the gauges to fluctuate. So after the tank has been inside for a while it should come back up to 800. Ive noticed this at work. Your tank may have been sitting out side.
Just as a side note, a regulator will actually freeze and form frost if a high flow rate of Co2 is used. Or if there is a leak.

My newly filled 5 lb cylinders always show 900 psi when full.
