Some Cool new Skimmers from BM and Skimz

I see the new Hero line of Bubble Magus skimmers have been announced http://reefbuilders.com/2010/11/17/b...ro/#more-26572. Just curious as to when we will be seeing these in Canada.

The new Skimz Kone SK181 http://reefbuilders.com/2010/09/17/s...otein-skimmer/ looks very cool as well. Are you bringing any of these to Canada?

A head to head comparison of the Hero 180 and SK181 would be awesome!

we were informed by Bubble Magus last night that the hero will not be released until late january to anyone irrelevant of any other claim.

It basically is a BM180CS with the aquabee pump removed and the Atman put in its place. The air intake has been moved down also, this is to reduce over all height, and the rest of the unit tidied up using injection moulding instead of wrap and seal.

In terms of what is better - after seeing the insane over kill in build quality of Skimz and the fact Bubble Magus for their higher end skimmers are no longer using German pumps I would go for the SK181.

This is totally unbiased as we distribute both equally, but bang for buck and more important over all quality Skimz for sure have the edge right now.

Bubble Magus will not release pricing until the new year for this unit
Skimz 181 is $399 depending on final import costs available in January
