Little bugs
I am new to the hobby and have had my tank set up
 for about 10 weeks now. When I turned the lights on this morning, I saw thousands of little bugs in the sand. They have now hidden as the lights have been on for a while today. Can you tell me what they are, and is it a concern?Thanks

I think it is quite common in a newly setup tank. I always get little bugs on the glass. They always disappear in time.

Hopefully they don't completely disappear though! You most likely just had a typical copepod outbreak and you can consider it a good thing

Yeah they are pods and they come out at night mostly. They are a good thing. If you want to see the nocturnal critters in your tank use a red light, they can't see that. A bunch of things come out at night on the reef

Bob I'm not sure why they would disappear over time unless they are being predated.
 I've always considered 'pods standard fare in any healthy reef.
