Default led lights

I found this on ebay too. It's not very cheap by any means but it looks kinda cool. Do you think there's an advantage having such a specific product?

I just figured buy a few LED's, some resistors and dig up a old power supply ( found one - output 6v 300ma from a old tape recorder) from the basement. Put it all together and you have a very cost effective moonlight setup - $8 bucks in parts for a 4 light setup if you don't have to buy the power supply. Besides i need something to keep me busy on saturday. The second link on the previous post has a pic of what the one guy did - seems to be nice but have to wait and see i guess how mine will turn out.

Cheaper is better. As long as quality doesn't suffer. Keep us posted how it goes and how it looks.

Here is another site you can check out for LED's.

http://autolumination.com/fixtures.htm

I wish I could remember the thread I found these on because the pics over the tank running 2 of the 3 lamp systems looked great.

I buy my LEDs from http://www.lsdiodes.com/ . They ship up to Canada for a pretty darn good rate, and have freebies if you buy over a certain amount. I had 3 LEDs run off of an old 75watt 386 psu for a little while, but I took it down. I will have it up and running again as soon as I get my MH hood put together.

Here it is:

I have 3 leds positioned at the side of my tank... just plain old electrical tape is holding them down right now. Once I get the final position right, I'll glue them down.

A pic of what is soon to be Jim's green digi frag. The camera doesn't catch it (mainly because I don't really know how to take the shot), but this piece actually glows green under the 3 blue LEDs.

The tank itself is actually quite a bit brighter than the picture shows... I might actually block one of the LEDs.
