![]() I just see them as being better for adhesion of the coral, and blending in better than the typical cement based plugs, and with larger surface area for faster coraline coverage or base encrusting of the frags..

But as for surface area, Ian can you tell if its been dipped in some sort of sealing agent? I like my regular plugs because during the forming process they sprinkle sand onto the wet plugs adhering it and letting the coral grow right onto that. Do the new plugs have a layer of something between the aragonite and what the coral is suppose to grow on? Then again I don't think much testing has been done on growth rates of encrusting corals on different substrates so I probably shouldn't talk ![]() So yes I'm very interested in some of them, are they much more expensive than regular plugs? ![]() Looks like epoxy coated coral bits to me I don't think I would pay more for that would prefer a more natural rock looking one and larger. My two cents.
