Default comment on carib-sea

just wondering what peoples opinions are on caric-sea black pacific reef live sand are?? i bought a 20lb bag and want to try it out and see how it is. any comments or opinions would be awesome thanks. it is going into my 25g cube

I had it in one of my 25's and the thing I found was that if you moved rock around from other tanks you ended up with the regular sand mixed in or when doing water changes.
I finally took it all out.

"Live" sand is more a gimmick IMO. Never bought/used black sand though.

Never used the 'live' version, but I have used the black previously and loved it. However there are a few drawbacks;

- less light reflection back upwards
- If you previously had white sand in your tank, you may find you get well mixed sand later down the road.
- It needs less cleaning visually then white sand
- Seems to dissolve at about the same rate, or slightly slower then white sand, requiring less frequent replacement.

And old school shot, ignore the GHA.

those are sweet clams. yeah i knw what ya mean about reflection but thats ok. the stuff i have is black and white so it is still bright with the white pieces in it
