X10 experience

Anyone have any experience with X10 home automation systems? I've got a variety of applications at home that this system would be perfect for but I'm curious on the reliability and speed of the signal, any experience would be helpful.

X10 works but suffers from line noise. I can be affected but cheap ballasts or some appliances. If you can isolate the circut (plug you plan to use it on) with filters you can run x10. I am running x10 on the reef system now.
