Default What the heck is this????????????

I was hoping some one could tell me what this might be? It is white & kind of fuzzy, the one on the Frogspawn has a hole in the center. There is some on the bottom of my Bubble Coral, on a couple of piece's of rock & in my skimmer as well.

Please pardon my ignorance but how can a sponge just appear out of the blue. I will get better pics and post tomorrow.

There was probably spores or something on your live rock, the conditions got favourable to grow and you are just noticing it now. Thats the great thing about SW you never know what you got in there.

I agree with sponges. They seem to grow from nowhere, out of direct light.
They are good, filtering bacteria and nutrients out of the water column.
