![]() As the title says what do people recommend as the most accurate test kits for Ca and Mg?
I have an Elos Mg kit that is giving me a reading of somewhere around 1050 for Mg in a freshly mixed batch of D&D H20cean salt at a SG of 1.025 and temp of about 78. That seems a bit low as I thought this salt should be higher. |

![]() Ditto. Although I have been putting more faith in Elos kits lately.
I wouldn't be surprised if your magnesium is 1050 ppm out of the D-D bucket. |

I have used the Elos test kits as that is all J&L sells, however the last couple of test kits the fluids ran out rather prematurely and I only got about 30 tests per kit. I then switched to Salifert from OA. Tom R |

IMO Elos and Salifert are about the best bets for Mg. But as stated already, all test kits generally have their own pitfalls.

![]() Okay, sounds like it is the salt and not the test kit that is off. I thought the H2Ocean was supposed to have Mg around 1300
