Default Garlic extract

Can (and how) I extract some juices from fresh garlic and soak my fish food in it? Or do I have to use the special extracts from the LFS?

The extracts from the LFS are actually cost effective. Kent Garlic Extreme should be $20-22, and it would take you more than $20 in garlic to make it yourself. I'd just buy the extract. Although it is nice to be able to use fresh garlic...in which case you can just buy cloves and use a garlic press that you will find in the kitchen utensil section in your grocery store for about $12-20.

kent garlic extreme is $13.75 at JL aquatics for a 1 oz bottle but you only use 2 drops at a time or 1 drop per 10 G directly into the tank i have had mine for about 6 weeks and ive barely used any each bottle should last 6 months easy

You can use it directly into the tank? Not mix it with the food?

Oh is it only $14? I thought it was $19.99 at J&L.

I've added it directly to my freshwater tanks when my Rasboras had a touch of some fungus or bacteria, and it cleared up quickly, but I've never tried to add it to my reef. I wouldn't.

it says you can use directly in aquarium, i did a few times but didnt seem to make a difference. So now i have a tiny little jar that i fill with aquarium water and 2 drops of garlic and 1/2ml of selcon for the nori to soak in

I defrost my Mysis, and other frozen foods in a shot glass. Then add a couple drops Garlic/Selcon for feeding time
