![]() As the title says. I'm curious as to what a radium would look like on my tank but until I know if I like the look or not I don't want to buy brand new bulbs.
I will pay any shipping charges of course I'm also curious about the 12k coralvue reeflux bulb as well if you happen to have an old one laying around |

![]() Radiums can look differnt depending on ballast used, so keep that in mind too.
My next bulb change will be back to Radiums, although I use 400w.

![]() I have HQI ballasts. I've read that it is the ideal ballast for a radium which is why I want to try them

![]() They have to much of a purple hue to them IMO, with that ballast. It's all personal taste though. Electronic ballasts give good color. I used my 400w on Son Agro ballasts, I really lvoed the color.

![]() I have 250W Radiums on an m80 (HQI) ballast and they are very, very blue. The greens, blues and purples almost have an actinic glow to them although I do notice that yellow corals like my Fiji leather look a little drab.
It's all about personal taste, but if you like that deep blue water look with pretty good PAR them you can't beat them. |

![]() I figured they would be very blue.
As odd as it sounds I need to slow down my coral growth, I am needing to fill my calcium reactor every 4 weeks and with the low ph I'm running in the reactor, the media turns to mush fairly quickly so the bottom 3" is wasted. Nobody has an old radium laying around gathering dust? |
