![]() How many people out there are using them? What are your impressions? Any pitfalls? I guess with 2 gal/day evap. and general everyday living its just too much for my HRV to handle. Couple that with aluminum window frames and baseboard heating and Ive got a sweaty mess on all my windows. Looking for a solution.

![]() Weird, I went the exact opposite direction than you did. The dehumidifier was noisy, sucked electricity, and only provided a localized effect so I installed an HRV. Maybe your HRV is too small for your house?

![]() I have one, just a small portable model from costco. Gets the job done for the most part, it always amazes me how much moisture it takes out of the air. The tank is in a smaller room so it can get pretty damp in there. Run the dehumidifier in the winter and the AC unit gets it done in the summer. The only downside is that it beeps really loudly when its full, and that always seems to be at 3am

![]() The HRV was installed when the house was built so i assume the contractor sized it correctly for the house. I guess with all of the cooking and 5 people showering etc its too much for it to handle though even running on fast speed. The tank is located in my big Kitchen/Familyroom and there is only 1 inlet and 1 outlet in there.

![]() Sorry, what's an HRV?
We have a giant scary loud power sucking dehumidifier right now and I'm looking for other options. |

![]() Check out a Humidex........ uses less power then a dehumidifier.
