I've always disliked paypal for that reason. They have an out of date exchange rate and then charge a 2.5% premium on top of that.

I haven't used it in a while.. what are they calling the exchange rate today?

Oi! That seems very wrong.. now I'm not a math expert but after the 2.5% "cash grab" exhange fee that looks on the surface like a $0.84 exchange.

I'll just add it to the list of reasons I don't really care for paypal ... yeah, it's ridiculous.

What I hate about PP is that every month my subscription payment for something comes out earlier and earlier.

And I was 1cent short for a payment once and they did a transfer from my bank account for the entire amount, yet my account has owed a few cents before.

I wish there was a better option that Paypal most days

I don't know if this is new, but there is now an option that lets you choose to use your VISA's exchange rate. So instead of Paypal converting the amount with their rate and then charging you that amount in Canadian dollars, you can now choose to charge your VISA in US dollars and let VISA convert it. Turned out that VISA's exchange rate was just as bad.

the 2.5% "cash grab" only is for the SELLER. the buyer only has to worry about exchange. Which PP charges in their favour. Ohh, paypal is owned by Ebay. incase you didnt know. Ebay is getting RICH, with a capital $

Paypal charged me like 4 times for the same purchase, and not all at once. Every few weeks they would charge for the same item. It took a very long time and a lot of hasel to get it sorted out. I hate paypal!
