Default Your Most Wanted Coral/Frag/Fish List

Wickedfrags wants to know what's on your most wanted coral and/or frag list. There is a lot of stuff I have access to but do not get the opportunity to add to the site - so let me know.

Also - would you buy fish online? They would of course be guaranteed to arrive alive. Thanks

For corals, I just like stuff that is unique in color or growth. I don't have must haves, but there are definitely some colors I prefer to others. Deep purples, etc. appeal to me personally.

Yes I would consider buying fish, however I would probably want a picture of the specific specimen. When it all comes down to it, the cost of shipping + the livestock is what will make me purchase online or not.

I want a Gem Tang!
(I am just dreaming could never really afford one.)

I agree with catherine, if you can do a wsiwyg type of thing then I would be more than willing to buy fish online. I guess the same would go for corals too.

Snowflake Clowns would be on my list of fish to get!

Corals; hmmm let's see...anything without AEFW, Monti eating Nudi's, Redbugs (I know Wickedfrags would not sell them with it and neither would some of the other excellent frag suppliers on this board), seriously though I would love a few of the Superman varieties of Monti...I saw a Digitata that was Superman colored once...never again...

Being a little leary of buying online.. the old "once bitten twice shy" thing...
I love the idea of WYSIWYG corals. I know alot of things are fragged to order, but especially on the higher end things a picture of the frag being offered makes my credit card whisper sweet nothings to me

Paly Grandis for me.

Buying corals online is one thing an fish is another for me. Fish I am much more comfortable buying when i can see the fish swim around, react, etc. At a store I will watch a fish for quite a bit before i consider buying. I feel that with corals you can have a better indication of health with pictures.

for buying frags its awesome to see a pic of the mother colony and wysiwyg pic of the actual frag, just makes you a little more comfortable in your purchase. but you are doing an awesome job with the site though.

Thanks for the input.

I was thinking the more unusual fish, reef safe, and having been in a reef for a least a week or two. Something I am pondering - but not something I am sure makes sense (despite me having the tanks and space available now). Then again, I take for granted the fact that Toronto has a ton of local shops to pick up fish.

Gem tang - I have only ever seen one available in Toronto, and never at a store. Sweet fish though - a little pricey, may need a deposit on that one WYSIWYG would be the deal with fish I think.

Snowflakes I have seen from time to time. Pests are always a concern that is for sure! Have managed to avoid AEFW to date myself. I am fortunate to have a lot of space though to allow quarantine (3 seprate systems - 1000G+)

Well I hope you were not bitten by wickedfrags! I am doing more WYSIWYG frags now that I have a bigger dedicated frag tank. It is actually an area to grow out which is making things easier. May do some WYSIWYG frag packs as well.

The Paly Grandis is alive in well in my display - and on my list of corals to frag. This is an older pic of mine - the paly beside it looks tiny!

I have never bought or sold a fish online, but if I were to it would half to be healthy because if it did not survive (just like corals) I would need to replace it. I agree it would be an unusual experience, but if it were a really unusual or tough to find fish I may give it a try.

I realized this after I designed the site and agree it would be nice. That being said, a lot more time taking pics and uploading them. And thanks! FYI for those more unusual pieces (and by that I mean expensive!) or large orders I can provide pics of your frags.

I'd love to find me a Siganus doliatus some day .. better yet, a pair.

A golden dwarf moray would fit in my 20g just fine

Any of the photosynthetic gorgonians. Gorgonia ventilana or Gorgonia flabellum. I know I'm dreaming.. it's too bad because they are supposed to do really well under conditions that are ideal for SPS (high flow, high light). Someone on RC had one, they were in Quebec, they never replied to any of my PM's though. Not sure if that's a hint about how legally collected it may have been. But there are several other species of photosynthetic gorgonians that are available from some of the larger US based vendors (pacificeastaquaculture.com, liveaquaria.com, a couple others), but for some reason they just don't seem to come available up here nowadays (I'm guessing more due to lack of interest or people just don't realize that there are such things as photosynthetic gorg's that don't need a drip system for feeding!)

I'd like a pair of Picasso Clowns, but I'm not sure I'd buy them online as I like to watch the fish for awhile before purchase as well. Especially on pricier specimens.
