Default What do you name your fish and why?

I think one of our best is still Trig-no-metric Function.....the complexity of that might even amuse Quinn !!

Some fish seem to get boring generic names, like Puff, Chromey, or Chevy.

Others have been named by hubby, and I can't decipher the meanings of some of those....

Others, strangely enough, never get named.....why is that? :?

I find it at lot easier to tell hubby that Shadow is doing this or that, instead of saying...look dear...look at the acanthurus tenenntii...no dear, the doubleband surgeonfish....

At this point in time my fish have no names. I don't think it really bothers them . Back in the late seventies I had an Ocellaris clown named "Fat Albert". She fooled us and laid a bunch of eggs. Just to prove we were the goofy ones.

Let's see... we have:

Fred, a damsel - our first fish
Ethel the crab, LR hitchhiker that kept Fred company
Jack blenny
Curly, Larry and Moe - 3 blue leg hermits
Now we found another LR hitchhiker crab, Little Ethel
The Bobsey Twins - 2 peppermint shrimp
3 really fast nassarius snails - Mario Anderetti, Jaques Villeneuve and Speedy Gonzales
Big Bertha the turbo snail

We still have some unnamed snails and hermits - their individual characters have not yet been revealed to us.

I am bad enough with trying to remember peoples names. I couldn't imagine trying to remember fish's names

I've named ours (the hubby can't be bothered with the names, but my son loves it!).
Blue tang- Horatio
Algae Blenny- Denver
2 cleaner shrimp- Tweedle dee & tweedle dum (not sure which is which).
Thought about naming the brittle star, but we never see him!
