Default Science or Art

I was reading a thread about testing and was just curious on what percent of your reefing success is Science and what is Art

Im thinking 60% Science and 40% Art.

Wendell that is a tough question because I think a lot depends on what one interprets as success and what you kind of reef you keep, some require more science than others. That said I do at least sort of agree with the 60/40 ratio. It starts with science and testing but over time you get a feel for it and can often tell when some elements need topping up just by looking. So yeah I think it starts with science and slowly becomes an art.

I don't have an artistic bone in my body. 100% science. I'm not sure if I've had success yet, however.

I feel the same way about my own reef & husbandry skills.
