Question 4 feet of acrylic and water pump assembly for $9800 anybody?

http://www.hiddenreef.ca/storefront/...categoryid=114

Just wondering who in the right mind would pay $9864.89 (after tax) for a skimmer alone?
To justify that, you need a tank with a price tag at least 3 to 6 times as much right?
And what would one keep in that tank a Damsel fish ? LOL

it would be a sweet tank though. can you imagine owning a tank big enough to need that size skimmer. maybe my next tank........i'll bribe superfudge with wobbly pops to help me build it.

Find the price on an equivalent Deltec then compare the quality of build and engineering

I am driving a car that cost less then that. And would you not agree with the fact that it takes SOME engineering skills to build a car ?

this is acrylic and a water pump assembly we are talking about here...Something that called common cense is missing when I see price tags like that .
9000$ will pay my apartment mortgage for almost a year !

Heh, it's pretty damn extravagant, but it's definitely a product that certain types of people will demand.

Truth be told, if you look up the cost of materials, the profit margin isn't the rape that most people believe it is (I believe 18" diameter EXTRUDED runs in excess of $200.00/ft, cast being even more expensive).

And chances are, if you have a 2000G+ aquarium, you're not too concerned with the cost of things...

I'm thinking if you had a 2000G reef tank and needed a skimmer to ensure the lives of all the coral and fish in a 2000G tank 9k would be peanuts

Plus if you had the money to run and maintain a 2000G aquarium you wouldn't have a problem with 9K
