acro eating crab
I found a black crab with long skinny pincers almost the size of a quarter in my pink mille' colony tonight and he seemed to be munching on it.
 Maybe that is why that coral has been so slow to recover from the leaking dishwasher fiasco. I'll post a picture of the little jerk later tomorrow and hopfully get an id on it. Anyway I don't think it's reef compatable.

I'm sorry the photo doesn't show it, but yes he did have long skinny black pincers.

whoah Snappy, I found a similiar crab to the one you are describing here in my reef after I bought some rocks from the phillipines....
Please post a pic when you can becuase I would love to know if the one i saw in mine is the same... K.

 Not a great picture but you can still get the idea. I'm not sure whether to serve him as fish food or banish it to the sump. Unfortunately he has the claws tucked in under it but the are long and skinny, perfect for nipping at acro polyps. After I caught it he kept turning over and playing dead. LOL

yep....
thats him alright, minus the orange hair on his legs... Hmmmmm, how am I going to catch the one in my 30 reef without any hermits or my banded coral shrimp being affected? i have only seen him once at like 3 in the morning after the bar....
