Overdriving Fluorescents

I have a visi-lux 2X30 or 40 watts electronic ballast if I use a 20 watt bulb will it run brighter and will it afect anything? ballast life, bulb life?

Well I don't know for sure if it will OD the bulb but if it does than you will lose a little bit of bulb life.
