![]() I'm starting to wonder if I've made a mistake taking my car into Mr. Transmission. They have had my car for nearly two weeks. They have not yet even begun to rebuild the tranny. It's always some excuse or another. Oh the parts are ordered. Oh the parts were supposed to come in. Oh we had to get the parts from the dealer. Oh the parts are coming in from the States. Oh the parts will be in today, and we'll have the car ready by Friday. Oh I never said the car would be ready by Friday. I said the parts would be in by Friday.
It was supposed to not take more than 2 or 3 days. So much for that. :x He was really reluctant to give me a written estimate beforehand too. The thing that really chokes me is that after he told me $3000 over the phone, and I said, well, go ahead; they decided that because I wanted a written estimate, that I was somehow still going to give them the "final" word after I had seen the written estimate (which matches exactly what he told me over the phone, which I had already told him "please go ahead"). Now, so, they don't tell me until Tuesday that they were still waiting on some kind of final word. I told them that I gave it to them on Friday. "Oh but you wanted a written estimate so we were waiting for you to read that and get back to us." Geeeezzz! All I wanted with the written estimate was just some kind of insurance that when I came to pick up the car, that the job wasn't suddently $5000 or something. A job that big, I want a written quote first. Since the story changes a little every single time I'm on the phone with them, that tells me I was right to insist upon the written estimate anyways. But I didn't expect that it would cost 3-4 days, that they would sit on the car doing nothing for those extra days. They've got me by the 'nads now. What can I do? It's not like I can drive my car away. THEY'VE GOT THE TRANNY IN LITTLE PIECES ON THEIR BENCH!!! ARARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!! All I can do is wait for them to finish. You know, shoot, if it takes two weeks to get the parts in at the best price or something ... then it takes two weeks. I won't like to be told that, naturally, but I like it even less when I can't get a straight answer and a story that changes from day to day. At least an honest answer would be nice. I just want my WHEELS back! Dang it! ![]()
