![]() How many of you out there have sloppy wiring behind your TV, your computer, your fishtank, etc etc...
And how many of you are quite organized in this? How 'bout everyone shares their ideas on how to cure the wire nest? I'm thinking of trying something I saw on advanced aquarist. Somone made their own power box out of household electrical sockets. It made it nice and spacious for plugging things in, easy to organize, and there were various GFI groups so one ground fault didn't bring down everything. neat idea I think, now I just have to figure out where to get lots of electrical sockets, boxes, and a few GFI's for cheap.

![]() This is what I did to the left side of my DIY stand:

![]() Yes, those 'wall' timers control some of the outlets (for my lights). Those were Intermatic SS8 timers. I have since changed to different ones, because the Intermatic ones are mechanical, and I had 2 break down on me. When the second one went, I just changed all the remaining three as well.
I'm now using 4 x Leviton 6124H-W electrical timers (no moving parts = less chance of malfunction). Got them from HD. You can check it out on my site, click on Equipment > Lighting. Quote:

![]() Gary,
Ive been running those same timers on my setup for 2 years now. No complaints at all and super easy to program. Will never go back to Mechanical Timers EVER!!! Plus I like the backlighting.. ![]() |

![]() Yeah, I'm loving the Levitron timers too! Indiglo'ish! haha. No more of that annoying sound of gears spinning when the lights go on or off. And the stupid AAA batteries that the Intermatics needed. But I must say, Intermatic was pretty good about replacing defective products. I emailed them when the first one died, and they shipped me a new one from Toronto.
My only question is, how long do the Levitron ones save the programming for? I turned off my power one time to do some maintenance and the programming was saved, but that was only for a short period of time. Quote:

![]() I just made this box. Each outlet has it's own switch and the box is divided into two panels giving each panel it's own 15amp breaker.
