Default RO filtres

Is there really a difference between the types and name brands of RO/DI filtres?
I am looking at buying one off ebay and was just wondering if anyone has had any experiences from the filtres that are being offered there?
Any namebrands that are good?
Any namebrands that are bad?
Any input and advice is greatly appreciated
thanks
Neal

Ya just do a search on eBay for Reverse Osmosis... they have some AWESOME kits there for under $200 delivered... 6 stage units with auto shut off, manual back flush valves, refillable DI cartridges, and drinking water storage tanks... wish I would have checked there when I bought mine...
