Default Real Live Sand in Canada?

I was at Gold's (Calgary), and the one guy there said you can't get real live sand in Calgary, so everyone in Calgary should go with no substrate. Said only people in Ontario can get it.

Now I keep reading and reading, and there seem to be tons of benefits to live sand, that I would rather not miss out on.

Anyone know of any mail order places in Canada that sell live sand, and the critters for it? I know J&L Aquatics has critter packages that include inverts that stir up your bed, but they don't have any real live sand.

I got some from Jayson in Winnipeg years ago (saltwaterconnection.com) quite regularly when I was using a sandbed. It was nice and full of life. Don't hear much about them anymore so I don't know.

Shouldn't just being able to take a cupful of a well established tank be able to give you the benefits in time?
