Default Lookin for advice on Hallide Bulbs

Well I was all set to order some 400W 14K ARC hallides but am now re-considering my choice due to some feed back I have heard on them.

Has any one tried the Aqua Cool 14K bulbs
http://www.aquariumlight.com/product_info.asp?dbid=665

any other reccomendations (and yes cost is a factor.....)

Yeah you pretty much need HQI ballasts for Radiums.

People have had good luck with 10K XM's. Maybe someone else can pipe in. I had the 250W version and they were very nice for a 10K bulb.

I have the Radiums myself, their colour is hard to beat.

I use the Geisemann bulbs - both mogul and DE. I have 400W mogul and 250W DE. Great bulbs!
Am also trying out the BLV 14k 400W bulb. It's a bit blue compared to the Geisemann but I like the colour. We'll see how the corals react.
Also have a couple of the Coralvue Reeflux bulbs that I am going to try and see how I like them.

Nope, 10K. Wouldn't mind trying the 12K though so I may order a couple just to see.

I'm running a 250W SE 14K Geisemann but I want to switch it out. Way too much yellowish white for a 14k bulb
