Default Traverteen good or bad??

I have about 50 lbs. of Traverteen kind of chalkey, but is pretty well 100%calcum, believe is was collected near a hot spring and naturally occuring. What are thepro's and con's, would be putting it in a system with hard and soft corals also mushrooms and zoos.
Thanks for any responses.

i would stay far away from it,thier's no telling what other kinds of hard metals might leech out of it i believe it the same as limestone right?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limestone
for the amount it might save you its not worth the gamble i say.

Yup, I wouldn't even try IMO. It's not going to be worth it.
