Default abs

i bought soem 2 inch abs for my mag 12 return i have the primer and pvc to abs glue.

is abs safe there have been mixed answers in my search so just looking for some more. ne 1 using abs? and for how long?

While abs isn't approved for the drinking water in your home... It is about the most common plastic used in your tank... So yes it should be safe. JSTR just built his return using ABS plastic (intended for use on underground sprinkler systems), and it seems to be working just fine, and fish (well shrimp/seahorse safe)

a lot of tank stuff is ABS, like the trim around your tank, some skimmer boxes, light fixtures ect.. if you buy a chunk od 2" PVC pipe then you have piece of mind, but if you can find it you can use ABS in my opinion.

i use both abs and pvc on my setup.. 2" pvc is difficult to find around here..

kool tnc yah i would have got 2inch pvc but rona was out and hd dosent carry it
