Default Donught Coral

Hi Jason

There are a couple of different corals refered to as doughnut coral. Usually from the Cynarina or Scolymia genus. They are all fairly easy to keep. I've had one from the Cynarina genus in my tank for years.

I kept it under medium light for a long time because it seemed to like it better, and would expand more. I resently moved it and for the last couple of months it has been directly under a 400w MH, about 12" from the water surface.

There is really not much to keeping them, you can feed them directly by giving them pieces of krill and other meaty foods if you want to. Just place the food in the center of the coral when it has it's feeding tentacles extended.

They eat very slowly, so,you may have to stand guard over them to keep fish or shrimp from stealing the food.

HTH Dale
