What is the very best Calcium suppliment, liquid or powder.

Some kind of two part (calcium & alk) I figure is the easiest. Gets a bit expensive on heavily stocked larger tanks though. No point in adding calcium without maintaining alk levels. You could save considerable dollars by keeping the alk up with something like baking soda.

For Alk I use a two part baking:washing soda which is very cheep. My problem is that the last two Ca+ additives I bought really suck. I've gone through half of my Seachem calucium and it only raised it like 30ppm. Are liquid suppliments better? Looking to buy it locally.

for the once and a while fix, turbo Calcium is good, as for the best, a Ca reactor.

CALXMAX works great. I have to agree with Steve a CA reactor is a reef tanks best investment, well that and.....
Wai's sells the Calxmax.

My corals/clams seem to like Liquid Reactor.

I've tried to find Liquid reactor around town with no luck. I may stop by Wai's for that Calxmax and give it a try. Is Calxmax a liquid?
Calcium reactor is not really an option right now for space and cost issues.

Danny, keep in mind that a 2-part will replace you Alk supplement scheme with something 40 times more expensive. If you're good with your washing soda mix, then look for Turbo Calcium online (J&L).

To start buying a 2-part liquid now will pay for a reactor in about a year.

Another decent Ca liquid is Seachem Reef Complete, though it doesn't give the results people are reporting from Liquid Reactor. And to get it MO is about half the local price.
