Default More worms than ever!

I have just recently noticed an elevated level of worms in my aqurium . Is this good or bad? I used to just see a few at night in the gravel. Then last night I woke up and saw one that was half brown half purple . I also counted in the front of my gravel which is 36'' long and 2'' high 48 worms. About half were brittle worms and I dont know the other half . Also I saw two worms that were brown with really long hair like things on them. They moved really fast compared to brittle worms! Is this happening to anyone else or do I just have the super breeding worms? Please help me as I am going to upgrade aquariums soon

Jumps in worms/detritus eaters means you are probably over-feeding & there is excess food falling to your gravel or substrate. My seahorse tank gets that way because of all the target feeding I do to keep the seahorses stuffed I usually feed into one plant & then after a good feeding, I'll use my net & scoop out a bunch of the gravel to rinse out excess worms. They congregate where there is extra food, so under the feeding station is a good place for me to do this.

Anthony is correct. You will only get as many worms as there is food to sustain them.
