![]() ... With my new 73 gallon saltwater aquarium I wanted to stick it in my bedrooom with my other tank. This would mean that I would have a freshwater one and a salwater one in my bedroom. My dad was worried that the humidity would premote growth of fungus and junk. If it didnt go in my bedroom it would most likely go in the hall. So is there anyone out there that has any knowledge on this sort of stuff? Also we have this weird fungus disease that grows around where we live. Any help would be great thanks.
Matt

![]() I had a 50gallon freshwater, a 150 gallon and a 45 gallon vivarium in my room and its a bit humid but no fungus. Although the 150 is gone now and is replaced with a 25 gallon cube, but still no fungus.

![]() In areas of no air movement (behind couch, etc) I do get mold forming around the baseboards.

![]() In the 80s, I had 9 tanks (both fw & sw), totaling 500+ gallons in my parents' laundry room. No mold or fungus, but the clothes didn't seem to dry very fast in there
![]() I now have 5 tanks (5g to 100g) in a small basement suite with similar results. However, I do have rust forming on the baseboard heaters, but no mold or fungus. JME Anthony

![]() I have no mold but I have an air exchanger running on humidity to replace the air in the house. my humidity is around 50% and I don't even get moisture on the windows. So it all depends on the set up of your house and how you can deal with it.
