Kalk in ATO

What am I supposed to do with the kalk in my ato when I need to refil my ato? Do I need to pour out the settlement or I can I refill my ato and add more kalk?

You can leave the sediment in the bottom, clean it out every few months. Just make sure the pump doesn't suck it up.

So if my normal dosing is 2 tsp per gallon I can just throw in new ro/Di water in my top off with my 2 tsp and all is good ? Even if the sentiment gets stirred up ?
