Its hard to tell. It sort of looks like a scaleworm to me. They're good. If you still have it in a container see if you can take a pic of it laying flat.

Beats me, I guess they just do worm stuff
 I find them all the time on nets and wharf pilings and stuff. They may eat algae, they may eat smaller organisms like copepods and stuff. I have no idea but I was told they were good when I found one in my tank.Christy This is the one I had:  From Dr. Ron: "It appears to be a scale worm - probably in the family Polynoidae, Class Polychaeta, Phylum Annelida. See another example here Most of these animals are predatory on small bugs (amphipods, ostracodes) or scavengers. Probably harmless in a reef tank. "
