Mine is about 98%. This may be due to evaporation from my tank

It depends where your house is located.

not realy, they make you house more energy efficient. I had all my windows and doors upgraded, new humidity controled fan in the bathroom and proper venting for the dryer, and bathroom fan.

When i had my 135 gal tank, with the older windows that i had i had n problems in reference for humitidy, when i had my 280 going i had a hum of 80% thur out the winter.

There is a humidex out there you can get at home hardware its awesome a buddy of mine has it and he swears by it . He had like something over 100 gallons in his house and runnign at a Hum of high 80's and now after running this its at 37% so you do the math.
