![]() I have mounted my light with a linear actuator to raise and lower it. You can check my build early on to find it, I think page 23.

![]() Oh man, I have mine mounted on some cheapo spring loaded pulley/reel affairs but don't recall where I got them, perhaps a gardening store, or wait, maybe Surplus Herbies here in town, but you don't have one of those in greater Van...
Check a gardening type shop, they often have something similar gear to raise & lower hanging planters? In a pinch maybe a retractable dog leash.... I'm really thinking outside the box now...

![]() I did the same as mseepman did, used 2 liner actuators with push button power supplies to raise and lower 6 Radions in a rack as well as raise and lower the canopy opening on my 300. Used a toggle switch to switch from light rack and canopy opening. Everything bought at Princess Auto.

![]() Ok, I found some info on the units similar to the ones I've been using since hanging my my LED fixture. They are retractable reels & are often sold for hanging planters to raise & lower the flower pot for watering. You do need to ensure they are sufficiently robust to support the weight or your light(s). I believe the ones I have can hold up to 30 lbs. I use 2, so potentially can hang a 60 lb fixture on them. It's always a good idea to leave some room for error, i.e., don't max them out. I'm sure with a bit of searching, one could find more heavy duty versions, capable of holding more weight. A quick tug releases the reel mechanism & you can raise or lower what's attached quite easily & lock in position at the desired height. The carabiner fittings make it simple to unhook your cable/rope/chain or whatever you're using as attachment hardware. Mine are starting to get a bit finicky in reel operation these days, but for the price, they are easy to replace. If you want to keep it simple, without motors & wiring, this is an alternative solution.
