![]() have an open brain that had a lobo fall into it , there is some tissue damage and its getting a bit worse its been about 5 days since it happened . Is dipping it in rx helpful at all? or should I leave it be / It sucks as I have had this coral for 7 years . I will post a pic here in a bit when I shut my pump off . Also do micro brittles pose any harm to it ? I have millions of them under all my corals , I know they dont damage corals more wondering if they could be irritating the coral.

![]() What does the damage look like ? When you separated them did you blow off the open brain with a turkey baster to remove any stinging nematocysts? If I was gonna dip it I would try a dip in iodine , it will help to kill off any infection.
Not that it helps you now , but when my open brain was stung badly I was told by an experienced reefer to run the area that was stung under the tap ,and gently brush with a soft toothbrush. I was a little hesitant to do this but it worked great and the brain recovered very quickly. I think the freshwater kills off the nematocysts and stops them from further damaging the stung coral. |

![]() I blew the coral off as soon as I seen it . It was just that white stuff that the corals get when they fight . The lobo was so small to and took no damage of course the $10 coral is fine lol . It has 4-5 other mouths so hopefully it stops receding soon . Separated it from everything else and I will leave it be and see what happens . , I even glue down almost everything because of this happening in the past . Guess that's a sign my new aquarium I got built was needed tank is to full atm , that extra space doe

![]() I'd leave it alone. The damage isn't that bad. I'd just gently turkey baste it once a day to remove any dead flesh/sand.

![]() Have the coral in a breeder box of to the side away from everything . Gave it a dip keep removing dead stuff from it and I will leave it for now . As for anything irritating it the only thing would be mini brittles I have about 1 million of them they are under all my corals when I lift them up . Other than that asterina stars white and the dark ones have a Harlequin currently eating those but I always find them on my corals and remove them when I see them . The lobo only hurt maybe 1/2 inch of flesh when it first happened , it just deteriorated so fast .

Best of luck with the seriously injured one, fingers crossed |
