Led help

I'm running True lumen LED strips & was wondering if it's possible to somehow hook this up to a apex for dimming purposes.

Any thoughts?

Not sure, don't have an Apex, but I do have LED lights & while reading the Apex Reference Manual in an effort to help another reefer with Apex issues, I've come across this... Relevant info to you starts at page 131.

The Apex outputs a 0 to 10 volt dimming signal for use with advance led ballasts or other ballasts that use this signal. Not sure if the truelumen have a dimming connection.

the bluefish controller has a module to allow you to connect those leds for full control. the mini version might connect as well.

It appears True Lumen LED strips are a product of Current USA. I checked their site & they offer a timer/dimmer type controller. Not sure it will work with OPs model of light since he provides no details other than true lumen. He's asking if they can be controlled by his Apex.

Link below shows their accessory & compatible lights at the bottom of the page. Only need to figure out how to make the Apex do the same thing, rather than buying another product. Looks like their dimmer uses PWM which is not supported by Apex at this time according to the reference manual page I linked to earlier. As Robw mentions, the Apex can output a 0-10 volt dimming signal.

Thanks guys I think I'm hooped.....I have the Current dimmer but I was hoping that my next large investment being the Apex could control them.

Part of being a newbie.....

I wouldn't say you're hooped really. Just don't have one little option that's probably not mandatory, merely convenient. My LED fixture is on simple timers. Manual dimmers are set to a reasonable level that won't fry my LEDs & that's where they stay. On, Off with timers at varying stages/time of day. The livestock couldn't care less in my experience.
