Default Lr ,sumps, pumps what to do?

How much LR should I get to start with (in 72 gal) and when should i put it in ?. I was thinking of a few large pieces. also would a mag 12 be good or has anyone used Rio pumps the tank it is RR with overflow and also I not sure what I should do about this sump thing yet. I was told and figured out i need about a 20 gal sump ???
I want to make sure that I will be able to put a skimmer in it later and/or refurg. What type of pipe should I use for plumbing the whole system together. I checked home depot and looked at tan colored pvc pipe is this correct how many shut offs should I have ,should i have a check valve in line or any suggestions

I think it would be a better idea to have only a few pound of liverock and fill the rest with base rock. You save much more money that way.

As for the sump, you should try to get as large of a sump as possible to physically fit where you want it.

To plumb the tank, just use the schedule 40 PVC at home depot.
