Cool Balling and why pt2

We have recently received emails in regards to why our forum post is closed on the subjects of Balling, fear not everyone, this is simply due to us not wanting to get involved in miss informed arguments on a forum that just drags out the nasty in everyone too much has been posted that really is not accurate on many forums over the years.

However we do feel appropriate to address some information that is not really accurate in our view, just so there is some balance to all this.

There are many sides to dosing essential minerals into a system. Tropic Marin Bio-Calcium ORIGINAL Balling from the inventor and leading author Hans-Werner “Balling” himself does not need debugging or explanations it is an all in one system, some other systems will tell you that you need to do water changes to avoid ionic imbalances with their system and by doing the water change you are putting into the system essentially what the TM system will provide, however this is somewhat good in theory, but consider this argument… TM Balling system, the original, in Part C you are on a daily basis feeding your system with a continuous supply of the elements that get into that imbalance from the excess Sodium Chloride resulting from the addition of the Calcium Chloride and Sodium Bicarbonate. Some of the other systems rely on water changes to put these essential elements back in. Sounds ok? maybe in theory.

The hard facts based on simple logic
If you do a 10-15% water change weekly you are only replacing 10-15% of the water that has an imbalance with 10-15% of water that has a natural sea water balance of everything. That means you have cured 10-15% of your imbalance. The Tropic Marin Original Balling system will replenish the trace elements and keep them in balance on a daily basis.

Now before anyone starts posting TM advocate no need to do water changes, this is wholly untrue as we have seen very confusingly posted even confusing Tropic Marin with The Tropical Marine Centre in the UK . Water changes are essential, but they do not completely re-mineralise your system unless you are doing a near 100% change. What water changes do and are important to carry out regularly is for the removal of organics and "bad" or undesirable nutrients. If you have excess Phosphate, a 15% water change will rid your system of 15% of that Phosphate immediately. Water changes must be carried out but they should not be used as an argumentation to base a 3 part system on that does not offer all the trace elements that the Hans-Werner Balling system incorporates.

This point has been very miss represented and needs addressing for a fair and clear debate.

Where is there an argument in that fact?
Simply there is not one, take 10% out you get 10% back. So to avoid the roller coaster for your corals, the TM balling system allows for stability on a daily basis. Any other 3 part system will not address this imbalance by water changes alone.

If you wish to learn more about Tropic Marin Balling please contact Tropic Marin directly you then can get your questions answered directly not through any distributor, and then decide what you feel is best for you, we are not interested in debates.

This thread will remain closed just for the fact we would prefer not to get dragged into a "his product is better than your products" argument, if others feel they have something to prove then we are happy for the client to judge for themselves. Let the product speak for itself.
