Hey I have had this thing in my tank for quite some time. Anyone have any clue what it is? Its all receeded right now due to a WC and me moving it.

I am not an SPS expert; but my best guess is that it is "Hydnophora exesa". There are different forms of Hydnophora - "Branching" and "Encrusting/Plating". Both are considered very aggressive.

I've kept encrusting type in the past. It is very fast growing and easy to care for. However; the 'downside' to this if you will is that it is very aggressive and has the potential to sting and damage anything in its path.

The corallites should be pyramid shaped and raised underneath the flesh when retracted. This may help you better identify it conclusively.
