![]() It's been a long time since I mixed a whole bucket of Instant Ocean in one go. I seem to remember it mixes 180 gallons at 1.023, not 1.0264.
Could anyone confirm the number of gallons a pail makes at a certain SG? |

![]() I just made over 150 gallons this week of 1.025 salt for the new tank and I got a few cups left maybe 7-8 so it's pretty bang on it says 160 on the side

![]() From the instructions on the side of the bucket;
"1.5 lbs of Instant Ocean is formulated to create 5 gallons of saltwater at a specific gravity of 1.022" Front of bucket also has; "160 U.S. Gallons, 605 Liter Mix, Net Wt. 48 lbs., 21.7 Kg" Looks like Craig pretty much confirmed the numbers in his post. I usually use 12 cups of Instant Ocean to mix up a batch of about 23 gallons of water at 1.025. Sorry that doesn't help with the full bucket routine! I've never measured how many cups I get out of a bucket.

![]() From our experience it never makes enough salt like they say it does @ 1.026.

![]() I add the exact amount it says on the bucket (0.5 cups/gallon) and always end up with 35 PPT water on the dot, so I assume the 160 gallon claim is accurate too.

![]() Thanks for the replies! So, no one has ever mixed up a full bucket in one go?
