![]() I have a few encrusting montis.
Confusa, Orange rainbow, and some pink thing.... (an ID on the pink one would be great...) Their all, rather quickly, taking over the good real estate on the rock in my tank. How do I get rid of pieces! How do I frag it with out sawing up my rock? I just want pieces gone at this point, I don't care what happens to them, im more then happy to just drill holes through them to place new corals on top, but know the new corals would just get covered up. I'm tempted to take a hammer and chisel to it, but knowing my luck I would still end up breaking my rock. They've all ready been annoying my frogspawn, and even annoyed my RBTA and have forced him to vacate his old home. They need to go! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() if you want to get rid of them, you can completely smother them with epoxy.
![]() If you want to create frags and keep them under control, you can border them or corral them with epoxy. Then when they encrust over the corral you can peel it off and peel it as a frag and place a new piece of epoxy over that spot. Lather, rinse, repeat :-) ![]() |

![]() Yup, that's what I am doing with mine. And if you can place a piece of rubble rock, it will grow over that too, and then just pull it off, for a ready made frag.
