Default showing off the csc 450 skimmer

hey folks so we got a shipment of csc skimmers sporting the siccee pumps , and figured id haul the big boy out for some show and tell


its running a 400g store system with fish and liverock only and masssive feedings.





heres some pics i gotta say very impressed with this skimmer for its first week, there was no break in or vinegar bath and it was pulling almost instantly

good job guys!!



here she is feb7th out of the box and put together , assembly was very very minimal








dual siccee psk 1200 pumps

any skimmer can look great but the proof is in the puddin!!

day 3-4







and finally day 5 this morning!!

shes full baby!!










definately very impressive and thick dark black gunk!!

lovin it!!

What's the foot print on that beast? As well is the ideal sump water level ?

How much? The reef octopus I got is garbage

Setup: 180G DT, 105G Refuge (approx. 300lbs LR, 150lbs Aragonite)
Hardware: Super Reef Octopus SSS-3000, Tunze ATO, Mag 18 return, 2x MP40W, 2X Koralia 4's Wavemaker
Lighting: 5ft Hamilton Belize Sun (2x250W MH, 2X80W T5HO)
Type of Aquarium: mixed reef (SPS & LPS) with fish
Dosing: Mg, Ca, Alk

the footprint is about 11 1/2" x 11 1/2"

right now we are running it at 7" of water and i have it set to skim dry , im not sure how it does yet in 8-10" of water but judging by its performance in 7" i can almost bet it would perform equally as well

Give me a call when you can, as this one isn't... Even with a new impeller, it isn't able to produce the skimmate like a skimmer should. (403) 919-3442

I am at my whits end here... Been 3-4 months now, so we can't say it is a break in period.

Any advice would be grateful from anyone... Ready to pull this out and put my hydor back in.
