The Bubble King Protein skimmers are totally different than anything you may find on the market today. Bubble plates and injection pans with conical counter bored holes for clear turbulence reduction are standard on all models.

How big of a tank can this skimmer realistically handle? I'm running a 165g display with a 40g sump and a 55g refugium.

I would think it would all depend on what and how much you keep in your main tank - I would think the BK 180 would be a little small based on the above rating.

I had this skimmer on my 225g and 50g sump with a mid sized bioload and it was flawless.
