Default Feather algea?

I have searched around the site but can't seem to find anything about this. I assume it is algea. They grow in long "vines" and growth is spaced on the vine. This growth looks like a feather. Is this good or bad. Sorry no pics as camera is on vacation.

Look up Caulerpa mexicana or bryopsis.
